The Guardians of Oa prophesied about the Blackest Night, where the universe is overrun by Black Lanterns led by Nekron, a personified force of death who reanimates deceased superheroes and seeks to eliminate all life and emotion from the universe. The Justice League and even some of their archenemies teamed up to drive the Black Lanterns away. In the end, they were successful, but at a high price...
The Blackest Night brought about the disappearances of the world's finest...all of the superheroes and even the villains who teamed up with them.
Not all is lost though as it's always darkest before the dawn...the Dawn of a new Justice League. The offspring of those lost are now forced to step up and stand on their own, teaming up to bring order and hope back to the universe.
Having grown up in their parents' shadows, it is now time for the next generation to step out into the light.
Bring on the Dawn of Justice!
