Reckless, far from conflict-averse, and honest to a fault, in a nutshell, define Valen. He could likely be described as one of the most open and easy to understand pokemon one might meet... which, of course, has its upsides and downsides. He holds no real secrets, but at the same time, his stubbornness and dislike of control can lead to a fair bit of problems. Add to that, his inability to stay still for very long, along with a bit of wanderlust, has seen him hop through a few different orphanages, up to a point where he now calls an orphanage in Fiphele 'home' for multiple years.
Friends
As difficult to deal with as Valen may be, 'friends' are something he's constantly looking for, though he's not likely to outright say it. Given his propensity toward conflict and challenges, he's often likely to help out someone who might be in a bad spot, or just make a nuisance of himself... who knows. Either way, he's often willing to do plenty to get on someone's good side.
Enemies
Given his habits that make him something of a general nuisance, and how much he leans toward conflict to resolve most everything, Valen has undoubtedly made a certain share of enemies. Never mind those that might recognize him from when he was still with his father, or from his days wandering on his own and causing bits of trouble here and there... well, everyone has their own past to deal with.
Romance
One could assume, given how he'll flirt with just about any female that he might take an interest in, that he's most certainly looking for such. Whether he actually is or not is... somewhere in-between. Certainly he's a hopeless flirt, and the fact is he does want some sort of relationship, but any he might find would have to cross a barrier that is his fear of dishonesty, of being left alone. Outside of that, however, he would be quite faithful to anyone who could put up with his nonsense.
