INDRIA V. IDRIS FULL NAME: Indria Valentine Idris AGE: 22 GENDER: Female MEMBER GROUP: Political Figure HOME COUNTRY: Invictus OCCUPATION: Representative for Invictus POKEMON // WHAT ARE YOU? SPECIES: Leafeon #470, the Verdant Pokemon ABILITY: Chlorophyll LEVEL: 10 EGG MOVE AND CLASS BONUS: Covet and Giga Impact DRASTIC CHANGES: Normal OVERALL APPEARANCE Relatively normal as a whole. The most prominent difference in her appearance is perhaps that the leafy growth on her head is much straighter than the question-mark-shape most leafeon have. She also has far fewer notches in the leafy parts of her body. She's a bit taller than average, and she tries to show this off by standing straight in public. She's a bit skinny as well, though not to an unhealthy extent. She keeps herself extremely clean. PERSONALITY // WHO ARE YOU? LIKES ✔Praise - Indria holds herself highly and prefers for others to view her in the same way. It isn't uncommon for her to pretend to be what is viewed as "good" just so others will see her as perfect. However, if she's alone with someone she trusts or someone she doesn't care to win over, she will gladly reveal her true colors, which could be described as "unpleasant." ✔Vixx - Vixx was her first true friend and more of a caregiver to her than her parents ever were. This ninetales is her life, and she would do practically anything for her. In fact, the entire reason she strives for political power is to have more ability to be there for Vixx. ✔Power - Given she spent much of her life powerless and now has a life she wants to protect, she has an insatiable lust for power. Knowledge, physical strength, political connections, and even weapons if she can get her paws on any she likes. Her ego doesn't help the situation; she despises feeling beneath others in any way, which can drive her to be competitive in order to gain an edge over them. ✔Relaxing - Despite how much drive she has to succeed and look amazing in front of others, she's actually quite lazy at heart. She has a tendency to refuse to do anything unless she wants, needs or has to, and she adores just being able to lay around and do nothing every once in a while. ✔Being Serviced - Having others do things for her is just great. It's really, really great. It inlates her ego and enables her laziness at the same time. It's perfect. DISLIKES ✖Idiocy - Having a high intellect and a very low tolerance of others, it's quite easy to get on her bad side. She's generally willing to put up with someone even if she doesn't like them, but if they act like a total idiot, it can push her beyond her capacity for tolerance. ✖Inferiority - She despises feeling inferior to anyone. Having spent much of her life as a social outcast with an abusive home environment, she does not tolerate others looking down on her. ✖"Boring" Things - She has a low tolerance for things that bore her, and there are many things that bore her. She despises doing things she doesn't want to do, so if she can get out of doing something, she probably will. ✖Morals - She feels incredibly limited by her morals. If she could just do bad things without hesitation, it would make manipulating the world to her will so much easier. ✖Filth - Indria likes looking good in every way she can, and that includes keeping herself clean. While she doesn't care too much if someone else is dirty, she prefers for them to stay away from her, and she despises having to get herself dirty for any reason. ✖Living Things - Indria is spiteful, intolerant, lazy and egotistical. She can find something to dislike in pretty much anyone, and unless they earn her love, all they will receive is her hate. HABITS ►Adjusting Her Leafy Head-Tuft - While she was blessed with a slightly straighter leafy growth on her forehead than a normal leafeon, she still actively tries to keep it from curling into the typical question mark pattern most leafeon have. She doesn't like thinking everyone's seeing her with a giant question mark on her head. ►Standing Tall - Due to a desire to look as big and possible and hold herself high, she nearly always stands straight in public. However, she tends to slouch more when she doesn't feel the need to impress anyone as she is naturally quite lazy. FEARS ►Death - She isn't exactly afraid of death itself, but rather the prospect of leaving her dear friend alone in the world. She will go to great lengths to extend her own life if only to make Vixx happy. ►Failure - Despire her ego and general lack of fear for her own well-being, she is genuinely afraid of failing. She's fine with not succeeding in mundane tasks such as doing paperwork, but if it's something important to her, she's terrified of the idea of failing to achieve her goal. She feels she could go back to being seen as the helpless, ridiculed child she once was if she doesn't keep up with her personal achievements. OVERALL On the surface, Indria is likely to be whatever you want her to be, quite literally. She strives to look good in public, no matter what that may entail, and she is morally gray enough to be willing to do many morally questionable things to appease whoever she's with. Because of this, her apparent personality can vary depending on what the situation calls for. She rarely reveals her true self unless she's alone with someone she deeply trusts or simply doesn't care to impress, but anyone who gets to know the real her likely won't enjoy the experience. Selfish and self-centered are the best words to describe Indria. She has a moral compass, but she despises and suppresses it for self-service. She tries not to care about others, which is made easier by how irritable and difficult to please she is. She hates work of any kind and views it as a necessity rather than a passion, and she prefers being alone unless around someone she doesn't hate. One of her favorite activities is just laying down and doing absolutely nothing, though in her current position, she has very little time for such things. Aside from just being self-entitled, condescending, selfish and immoral, she is also vindictive and spiteful. She has a very low tolerance for many things and is not afraid to hurt someone's feelings. If someone crosses her or does something that really gets to her, she will go to great lengths to get back at them. It isn't just "an eye for an eye," either; she prefers to return any harm done to her with ample interest. She can hold grudges for a very long time, and making it up to her after doing something to genuinely hurt her is no simple task. She can be childish and attention-craving, though she often only shows this side of herself around those close to her. Her list of real friends is incredibly small due to her antisocial and obnoxious personality, but anyone who manages to actually get on that list will have an extremely loyal friend. She is obsessed with her closest friend, Vixx, perhaps unhealthily so. Vixx is the sole reason for her pursuit of political power, and her primary goal aside from power is to extend her own life just so she can be around longer for the ninetales. She would do virtually anything for someone she cares about, and this is especially true for Vixx. She has attachment issues and can get kind of obsessive and paranoid over anyone whom she is genuinely fond of, which is due to her cold parents and early social life - or lack thereof. She never had much companionship in her childhood, so what little she now has is extremely important to her. So, how did such a lazy and vile creature with such a small list of friends in the world manage to succeed? Simply put: she is a genius, and she's not afraid to flaunt it. Despite a rough start in life due to a lack of motivation throughout most of her childhood, she has managed to learn a great deal through her schooling with Vixx, even ascending to be the top student in the prestigious academy before her graduation. However, her studies did not end when she left the academy. She continues to study through any reading material she can get her paws on, despite the fact that she hates work and considers learning to be work. She learns at a fast rate due to her obsession over self-improvement and natural mental capacity. Despite being antisocial and avoiding social interaction throughout her early life, she's grown skilled in the art of manipulation, as is apparent in her ability to mask her true personality with ease. Her mind works fast and she solves problems quickly. Her skill with social interaction makes her a great diplomat, which helps in her line of work. However, her mind is not without faults. For instance, when she is passionate or emotional about something, she can become set on it and even irrational. While there are few things in the world she truly cares about, they can be used against her; she would willingly give up a goal if it could put someone like Vixx in danger. She's also a relatively poor fighter. Despite knowing a great deal on strategy, combat moves and battle tactics, she hasn't had much actual experience with fighting. She uses some of her free time to train, but thinking is still her strong area. Besides, she generally avoids situations in which she would need to fight, and she dislikes getting her paws dirty anyway. She'd much rather solve her problems without violence, and if there really must be fighting, she'd prefer to simply get someone else to do it for her. This doesn't mean she's helpless, however, as she is still capable of defending herself if it comes to it. HISTORY // BUT WHY? Indria's parents, a male meowstic named Mudak and a female sylveon by the name of Suka, moved to Invictus from a far-off, wealthy land before her birth. They had riches, but they still longed for more, which brought them to the fabled utopia known as "The Capital." Indria was born here, and from her first moments, she was instilled with a hatred for it. She was an ill-mannered and rowdy child, not fitting in with the high class and prestige of The Capital, and thus she had no friends. Parents viewed her as a heathen while children made fun of and avoided her. Her parents grew annoyed at this, and so her mother tried to teach her discipline and manners. However, she found that her child entirely ignored her attempts to teach her to act "civilized." Indria's father, meanwhile, tried to get her into exercise and physical labor so that she could compete in sports and keep her physical form in peak shape. She was a rebellious child who ignored and opposed her parents, but it was for good reason: the two were incredibly cold and harsh toward her, rarely giving her the love and attention she craved and instead ordering her around and treating her like a pet bought and trained to impress the upper-class citizens. She refused to listen to them because she felt unloved. The child was enrolled in school as soon as she was able, with her parents hoping this would teach her some discipline or at least reveal some intelligence or ANYTHING they could be proud of. By this point, she had grown to deeply desire kindness from others and simply refused to do anything anyone said unless they went out of their way to be nice to her. The emotional abuse of her parents was taking a heavy toll on her, and her poor behavior in school only made the situation worse. Teachers and students alike hated her, as she acted like a foul-mouthed, uncivilized brat who refused to listen or do her work. She often got into fights with other students, and despite not being very good at fighting, she still reigned victorious as the snobby rich kids were even worse at it. Despite how the other kids teased and isolated her, she came to be viewed as a bully for jumping to violence to solve her problems. Physical discipline wasn't much of an option for her parents, as they didn't want to get in trouble or, more importantly, damage the appearance of their precious little pet. The one good thing about her in their eyes was that she was still an adorable little eevee, and they tried to cling to that one selling point. This didn't mean she wasn't punished, however, and what she received was perhaps worse. Her parents first tried lecturing her, then resorted more to simply yelling, before finally coming to more severe forms of punishment such as making her skip meals and locking her in her room. All they really would have had to do was try being nice, but instead, they kept pushing the little eevee further and further away from them, making her stress over life and feel the constant burden of their expectations. The sheer misery of the situation did eventually make her start behaving more, but she dreaded the times where she would slip up and do something wrong anyway, as the punishments never got more lenient. Trying was not good enough. Her parents expected perfection mirroring how they viewed themselves because they're fucking cunts. Indria actually found school to be easy, at least in regards to the work itself. Learning and understanding things seemed to come naturally to her. However, being constantly stressed often got to her and made her do considerably worse than what she was capable of. On top of that, she still got in trouble more than a normal student despite trying not to; it was simply in her nature to be a troublemaker, and teachers and students already had a bias against her. She barely managed to pass her first year, which upset her parents enough on its own, so when she failed her second year... they were vividly livid. They virtually stopped speaking to her, and the total alienation and punishment on all ends caused her to give up on trying at all. She accepted her role as an outcast and made it her personal mission to make everyone absolutely miserable. Shortly into her next year of school, she was expelled after setting the principal's office ablaze. Her parents quite literally hated her, and so they did the only thing they could think to do: they brought her to a renowned academy, signed her up, and left her there. They didn't even stick around to help her unpack her belongings - of which she had few - and settle in. They didn't care care at all about leaving their young daughter alone in a new place. She was terrified and wanted nothing more than to beg them to reconsider, but she refused this urge. Needless to say, her life went a bit downhill from there. She hadn't liked her parents much in the first place, but being essentially abandoned by them for not being good enough certainly hit her hard. Before long, she decided she was glad to be away from them. She hated them. She didn't want to end up getting expelled from the academy if that was even possible, as that meant having to go back home to her parents, so she did her absolute best to pass her classes. Alas, she always just barely got by due to her stress being nearly impossible to manage. Her troublemaking was also at an all-time high, and honestly, it was becoming a passion. She was sent to the headmistress often, so much so that she knew the name of the headmistress and greeted her in a casual manner. Vixx was her name, and she was pretty much the only one in the academy who actually made Indria happy. Ever. Indria started actively trying to get in trouble for the sole purpose of seeing Vixx during her second year in the academy, at which point she was 8 years old. Whenever she was feeling down, she'd just do something wrong and get sent to the headmistress. She'd often make up lies to get sent there, and she managed to get the teachers who thought she was such an idiot to believe her. Vixx was always nice to her no matter what she'd done, granted she never did anything too severe; minor property damage was the most a little eevee was really capable of anyway. She would often stay in the ninetales' office after being told she could leave just because she didn't want to go, and oddly enough, she was always allowed to stay until her next class started. It got to the point where she spent more time in Vixx's office than in her classes, which was starting to hurt her already-poor grades. Indria manipulated her way into getting sent to Vixx more and more, and she even began to lie to Vixx as well in an attempt to stay with her more. However, Vixx was very good at seeing through Indria's lies, and once it became obvious that she was becoming a rather obsessive liar, it stopped working entirely on the headmistress. Still, Vixx was never mad and merely tried to talk her out of this "bad habit." It didn't really work, but she appreciated getting to talk to Vixx more even if the topic was something so boring. Once Vixx realized that this little rascal's lying and being sent to the office could not be stopped without some measures she did not desire to take, she volunteered to teach the "problem child" herself starting from the eevee's 3rd year in the academy. While the board was against it, Vixx merely reminded them who was in charge and they dutifully approved. After becoming Vixx's student and getting to nearly constantly be around someone she liked in a one-on-one environment, Indria's grades skyrocketed and her general mood changed dramatically. She was literally the happiest she'd ever been in her life, all because she got to be around someone who treated her with a bit of kindness. She became one of the top studens in the academy at her level and ALMOST entirely stopped getting in trouble. Being freed from her past life of stress let her true colors shine; she actually LIKED doing things like school work when Vixx was around and even lost most of her desire to stir up trouble. After finishing two more years in the academy and passing with flying colors, and with her 11th birthday coming up near the end of her 5th year, Indria was informed that... her parents had requested to see her, to "commemorate the occasion." Of course, they hadn't offered to visit her for the 4 years she'd been there, so she knew this visit was just because of her grades and nothing more. With this in mind, she declined her parents' visitation request. Another request came shortly after, but she declined once again. Her home was at the academy now, and as far as she was concerned, the only real family she had was the very friendly ninetales who ran the place. A few years after Indria's parents seemed to have lost interest, Vixx came to realize that it was the child's 13th birthday. Vixx had given her a Mossy Rock after having noticed that Indria was expressing extreme interest in becoming what was known as a leafeon from the evolutionary line of eevee. The ninetales refused to say where she had gotten it and merely insisted that the eevee have it if she wanted to be a leafeon. Not long after graciously accepting the gift and evolving into her desired form, the eeveelution was horrified to hear that her parents had returned and they were demanding that she came with them. Having grown to like life in the academy with Vixx, she refused to go willingly. However, free will wasn't necessarily a deciding factor to her parents. She tried pretty much everything she could think to say, from "I'm not done learning yet" to "I hate you," but none of it swayed them. At first, they had come because they were "proud" of her, but that proud feeling faded when they realized she still hadn't learned any discipline or respect, which led them to the conclusion that this place wasn't doing its job. Her parents were in the process of signing her out of the academy, complaining about her and giving a fantastic demonstration of how NOT to have the slightest bit of parental respect for one's own child in the process, when she decided to juuuust... shoot a razor-sharp leaf at the sign-out paper and cut it in half. Her father's response was a result of years of frustration with the child; he was about to deliver a good backhand to the leafeon. It wasn't going to be particularly physically damaging and it certainly wouldn't kill, but it would definitely hurt due to the strength difference between the two. The noise in the section of the academy had attracted the attention of Vixx, who had yet to be notified by the board that this was even happening. Vixx witnessed the verbal abuse the parents were delivering to their child as she continued to rebel, the father going a bit too far as he was about to strike her student. Vixx intercepted the attack with a good pillar of fire, seperating the two and causing the meowstic to burn his hand, which was already in motion to strike. The attack was cancelled and a dangerous side of Vixx was revealed as she rather violently denied the parents the rights to take her student from the academy. The two outraged parents threatened legal action, but as there were eyewitnesses, this threat was hollow. Security excorted the infuriated parents out of the academy, and Vixx took custody of the child shortly after in order to prevent her parents from ever trying to take her away again. After these events, Indria's goal in life became to do well, both in the hopes Vixx would be proud of her and to really spite her parents. After a year of literally obsessing over learning whatever she could whenever she could, she ranked up from "a top student" to "THE top student," at least for her age range. Eventually, learning pretty much just became second nature and she stopped having to try so hard to keep her place. This gave her more free time to do other things, which of course resulted in her getting into a bit more trouble again, though not nearly as much as she'd experienced for most of her life. Over the course of the next 2 years, she continued to learn at about the same pace while having to put forth less and less effort as she got better at the art of learning; she only ever put forth more effort than usual when her top grade was threatened. Around her 12th year in the academy, at age 18, the leafeon had grown quite a lot and become very sharp-witted and intelligent for her age. She wasn't exactly very physically intimidating and didn't have to be with Vixx around, but this shortcoming was made up for with her intellect. After overhearing a conversation not intended for her ears in a meeting between the board members, Indria learned that they were not particularly fond of Vixx and herself. While distaste for herself wasn't a surprise, the dislike toward Vixx came as a shock. After partaking in some risky eavesdropping sessions, she learned that the board had been lying to Vixx about plenty of things, and she darted off to notify her teacher and friend only to find that she wasn't believed. Met with disbelief and distrust from the ninetales who had essentially become her entire life, Indria had a mental breakdown and left the academy in the span of a day, disappearing entirely. If her friend wasn't going to listen to her, whatever happened wasn't her fault, and she certainly wasn't going to sit back and wait for something bad to happen. She was now 17 and out in the world with nowhere to go, but that was alright, as she already had an idea of what she wanted to do. Her goal was simple: acquire as much power as possible as fast as possible, just to prove she could... and, well, just in case Vixx happened to need the extra help. She tried to deny that Vixx had anything to do with her motivation, but she knew deep down inside that the ninetales was the primary reason for her objective. The leafeon set out to garner favor amongst the higher-ups of The Capital, and despite her infamous past, she managed to impress. Not only was she a skilled manipulator through her natural intelligence and in-depth studies of psychology and social behavior, but she also had astounding adedemic credentials to flaunt when anyone questioned her worth. Not only was she the top student in a prestigious academy with some of the highest grades in its history, but she had done far more than what was required to simply "pass." She had officially graduated from "school" years before actually leaving the academy, and so she had a surplus of knowledge to show of. Her genius was found to be useful to many individuals, and she built up a reputation for it, garnering favors and contacts in ever-higher places. After a few more years, Indria Valentine Indris had become a very well-known name in the capital. She was the one to go to for advice or knowledge of any kind, and she had many political allies. She eventually took a political position of her own, and after burning through some of her built-up favors, she finally came to the point of being an official representitive of Invictus... and in her eyes, it was only the beginning.
