INVICTUS // NOT UTOPIA
OVERALL
The country of Invictus is widely viewed as a utopia by those who do not already live there. Immigrating into the country is quite difficult, whether legal or not. Those that enter Invictus are often of a higher class or at the very least have connections with a higher class. These views are not necessarily correct, however, as Invictus has just as much crime, poverty, and split between classes and pokemon as other places, if not more due to the number of cultures that have been suddenly confined in one place.
The country is very large and contains many small towns within it, but the capital is usually seen as the true utopia of the country. The capital has no real name other than "The Capital of Invictus" or "MNSP Headquarters" as it is where the Multi-National Security Panel members reside.
TRAVELING IN INVICTUS
The most common form of traveling around in Invictus is often on foot, but some particularly large pokemon offer smaller pokemon rides in carriages or even flight in some cases. Large pokemon such as Aggron are usually out of luck when it comes to traveling as their sheer weight and slowness usually mean they're not going to be getting anywhere as quickly as say a skitty that took a ride on a braviary.
As for aquatic pokemon, canals are built into the city alongside the streets for water pokemon to traverse in. Particularly large pokemon such as Gyarados, Lapras, and Wailord are often not seen in towns and instead reside in nearby lakes. A gyarados and lapras can traverse on land, but it's often far too difficult or slow for them to consider along with the fact that they would need water eventually.
There are some services that are similar to taxis for the fish pokemon, where the pokemon is placed into a bucket or bowl of water and carted around. More often than not, however, pokemon that are incapable of traveling on land by themselves are not seen at the capital unless they are a part of the MNSP or are there strictly for business.
CONTROVERSIAL SUBJECTS IN INVICTUS
Just like the real world, Invictus has certain subjects that pokemon often have a heavy split between. This is just a list of relevant controversial subjects in Invictus that most pokmeon often debate if they are taking a more political presence in the world.
- The hunting of Feral Pokemon
- See Controversial Pokemon
- Ethics of allowing civilians to carry Z-Crystals and Mega stones
- The efficiency of the MNSP
- The ethics of White Dawn being kept a secret
THE MULTI-NATIONAL SECURITY PANEL
I'm sure you've heard about this many times by now, but if not then allow me to explain. The Multi-National Security Panel is a collection of politicians and representatives from different nations that come together in Invictus to represent their country and upkeep peace. They created the MNSP and are the very reason Invictus has become so popular and fantasized as a place of peace.
While they have been doing a fair job of keeping the peace so far, it's not fun and games. Many members are corrupted and have dark secrets behind their success. Almost every member is aware that other members are corrupted, but it's a matter of exposing them in front of the others and upkeeping their legal appearance.
The MNSP created White Dawn to upkeep the peace, but in reality, it is merely a tool to use against each other. While it would be easier for many to just get rid of the double-edged sword, those that usually bring up something that suggests ending the operation are usually assumed to be up to no good and do not want to get caught.
The MNSP usually meet in the Town Hall whenever they need to discuss something, though meetings that require absolutely every member are few and far in between. When two or more countries are negotiating, a middle party country is usually brought along to mediate along with another member of the parties' choice that does not benefit from the deal. This is a bit flawed, however, as alliances formed usually cause bias in those supervising the meetings.
