Nier FULL NAME: Nier AGE: Thirty two years old BIOLOGICAL GENDER: Female MEMBER GROUP: Military HOME COUNTRY: Yithia OCCUPATION: Explorer POKEMON // WHAT ARE YOU? SPECIES: Garchomp ABILITY: Rough Skin LEVEL: 15 EGG MOVE AND CLASS BONUS: Outrage and Level 15 DRASTIC CHANGES: Normal OVERALL APPEARANCE Nier is a female garchomp - albeit a young one though. She doesn't look too much different from your average garchomp. She supports a slightly larger build - in the sense that she's taller than the average garchomp. More so, she's lean, looking a bit thin, but its not too difficult to see the wiry muscles underneath her scales. She has a notable tear on the top of her back fin - which sometimes, comically enough, gets her mistaken for a male. Her back fin itself is a bit more sharp and jagged looking than the average garchomp. A few other scars litter her body. Another notable scar is one across the bridge of her snout. Her eyes are then a dark golden in color. She wears an old looking, simple necklace of stringed together fangs, in which she says they all came from 'pretty strong pokemon'. PERSONALITY // WHO ARE YOU? LIKES ✔A Good Fight is something Nier always looks forward to. She's proud of her power and is eager to show it to any and all. Surprisingly enough, she isn't really a sore loser either, and often looks at it as an opportunity to go. Although if one does manage to beat her, they might be looked at as one of her many 'rivals' and often challenged out of nowhere. ✔Meat is a love that Nier has that she's not afraid to admit, and is often a bit disappointed at its lack of availability to the public within the country. While she does have her limits in things that she will and will not eat, one will quickly learn that Nier will eat anything in general - meat just so happens to be a favorite delicacy of hers. But no, really, Nier loves eating. ✔Flowers are a guilty pleasure of the usual tomboyish pokemon is her love of the cute, tiny and fragile flowers. One may even catch her in the 'crime' of putting one on her head and seeing if she looks nice with it. ✔Flying types are an odd favorite of Nier. To be more specific though, she likes the small, bird like flying types. She finds them utterly adorable, and often has no problem in letting them perch on various parts of her body. She also enjoys challenging some of the others to a race, given her species ability to fly quite fast. DISLIKES ✖Responsibilities are not favored by Nier. She dislikes owing someone, she dislikes making promises - she dislikes being tied down by 'responsibilities' to anyone or anything simply because she feels like it'll eventually get in the way of the most important thing in her life - doing what she wants to do. Its a slightly selfish way of thinking, yes, but its a motto Nier goes by. So don't feel too hurt if she turns down becoming your boo thing because its too much ' ✖Expensive Things are disliked due to how easy they break and she often doesn't see the fascination with things such as jewelry or such. These could be due to her 'poor', rugged lifestyle within her earlier days, but, she'd much rather be given a good punching bag than a dawn stone. This goes along with her dislike of formal things as well due to her 'rough' nature. ✖Psychic types are weird to her, and she often sees them as one of the 'weaker' types of Pokemon due to their intellectual prowess. They'll often have a harder time gaining respect from her. ✖Writing isn't fun. You ever try holding a pencil with claws like these? But on a serious note, due to her heritage, education was often not prioritized - and she seems to dislike any real 'educational' things. She's not stupid, she's just definitely not the smartest pokemon, intellectually, around. HABITS ►Breaking things is something that one should expect when around Nier. She often forgets her own strength, and her short temper with things doesn't help either. Funny thing is, she seems to sometimes enjoy breaking things too. But if you suddenly hear something shattering, utter silence, and then a tiny, 'oops', one can expect Nier to be at the scene of the crime. ►"Can I eat it?" If Nier doesn't know what something is and it looks edible in the slightest, she might just try to. You'd be surprised how sturdy a garchomp's teeth are...and how durable their stomach is. FEARS ►Becoming or being seen as weak is a major fear of Nier. While she likes fighting, if its completely one sided in the aspect that she lost, more often than not, she'll often feel like she's grown too soft. Despite her pride, the female displays tendencies of being too hard on herself, due to her strength being...well, everything to her. Calling her weak or looking down on her is a sure way to get your face torn up too. OVERALL Typically, when one see's Nier, they're automatically struck with a bit of fear given what she is and how she looks. Eh...Ehh...Nier isn't exactly how one would expect a dragon type to be. Okay, yes. She's rather aggressive and has a habit of both starting and thoroughly enjoying fights, even at the worst of times, and sure, she can be a bit loud and boisterous. But, the pokemon actually displays a sort of 'big sisterly' like love to most pokemon, often being quite sociable and even kindhearted, even if it is in a...tough love sort of way. She can be a bit insensitive, and her rough, independent personality can annoy more than a few. Not to mention, one will quickly notice that Nier can be quite...selfish and demanding, more often than not both her ego and domineering personality getting the best of her. She dislikes weakness in any and all forms, and while she has no problem protecting the weak, will not hesitate to perhaps demean them if need be. She's quite power hungry as well. The hot tempered pokemon is often displayed as a clumsy goof with a playful, non-serious display, sometimes even seen as 'optimistic' or insouciant...or to be frank 'just not giving a crap.' This isn't exactly wrong, but, Nier is much more complex and layered than one may think - not just a bad-tempered, greedy goof. Due to her combative nature, gaining respect from her is in the form of strength. She couldn't care less how a pokemon looks or what position they have - if one wants to escape her sometimes cruel, sarcastic words or get the stubborn 'my way is best way' dragon to listen to them, punching her in the face is probably the best way to do it. Oh, and on a side note, fighting is her 'go to' action - meaning, you take that berry she wanted? You're probably going to end up being bitten. Funnily enough, Nier can actually be socially awkward when it comes down to it. When its not about fighting, eating, exploring, or something of the like, and on a more personal level, she begins to trip over her words. For example, Nier isn't the best 'comfort pal'. She'll probably pat you on the head and ask 'well...you can punch me in the shoulder, if that'll help?'...if she doesn't call whatever you're sad over 'stupid', that is. Like stated, she's a tough over. But, she at least tries to be a good friend...sometimes. HISTORY // BUT WHY? Nier belongs to one of the few native civilizations able to withstand the harsh deserts of Yithia, hailing from an almost tribal like group of nomadic natives. These natives typically belonged to 'tougher' pokemon, mostly made of ground or rock types. For the most part, the tribe was out of the loop with most of the world, valuing themselves and their survival rather than anything else - they couldn't care less of what was happening within that 'mixed blooded country'. If anything, they found the thought of leaving their homeland to go to such a place 'dishonorable'. To the outside world, the Natives of Yithia were considered to be a group of pokemon who were little more than feral due to their ragged way of living and valuing strength over education. Often considered brutish or unnecessarily cruel, those who did leave their harsh homeland may have been shunned by society due to their heritage. At least, in the olden times they were. In the recent days, the natives had become more open, willing to listen to the concerns and news of the other countries, more likely to trade or show to political meetings. But for the most part, the 'travelers of the desert' remained within themselves. Nier was the firstborn to the current chieftain of the natives, a tyranitar named Ravine and daughter to a female garchomp named Velda. As the first born, it was expected that she would eventually become chieftain or at least a high ranking of some sort within the tribe. However, it was due to this that at a young age, the pokemon was often separated - isolated. Placed on a pedal stool above the others, it was more than awkward to be looked at with such high hopes and praise from the older pokemon. To be treated differently in such a positive way may sound like a dream to some, but for Nier, it was...lonely. Pokemon around her age often viewed her differently - rarely was she allowed free time. From a young age, the thought of prioritizing her tribes survival was drilled into her. Instead of focusing on the prized toughness and combat her people valued, she was learning. It was disgraceful to her. She would listen for hours on end of her father droning on and on about things she couldn't care less about. 'The herds of Zebstrika run this way' or 'you can tell its going to be a sand storm from this cloud'...It was horrible. And Nier was an even more horrible student - not to mention, too..violent. She couldn't think things through or stop and calm down to see the best solution. Something threatened their safety? Kill and possibly eat it. A confrontation? Beat them to submission. A dangerous storm coming their way? Tough it out. In short, her fathers frustrations grew towards his child when he realized how much of a horrible leader she'd be. Eventually, her mother would give birth to her younger brother. A blessing to Nier at first, thinking she'd finally have some sort of companionship. Although, within their settlement, any children after the first were often seen as 'inferior' or rather 'wasteful' due to the fact that they were yet another mouth to feed. It was an ancient belief that in the womb, the strongest child would be born first, and therefore after, the rest were the 'weaklinks'. Least to say, son of the chieftain or not, her brother received the exact opposite treatment Nier would, even if at a lesser degree than some others would. Her brother was smaller than her, weaker, but far smarter - much more leader like. And both he and her knew this. Which was why, as they got older, a rift formed. He wanted to be the one in the limelight, to have their fathers attention, to be at the good graces of all the others despite being the 'second child'. The two winded up more like enemies than siblings, almost seeming to dislike each other at times. He would often insult her with quips she couldn't understand, and she likely roughly bullying him into submission. An unhealthy sibling relationship. The one family member she did retain a good, pure relationship with was her mother, who was much unlike her daughter. A feminine garchomp with a gentle nature and formal display - Nier wished she could be more like her. "Sometimes sacrifices have to be made, some more severe than others," her mother would softly tell Nier as she ranted away about something stupid her father was teaching her. Her father and her were...at ends. She respected him - she looked up to him. And yet, was angered by the fact that he couldn't see that she did not want to eventually have the responsibility that came with helping in the survival of their people. Trying to tell him this, they got into an argument, and Nier did something rather stupid. She challenged him. A challenge was something taken very seriously within her tribe. It was a show of strength and honor - and whatever agreement was made upon the victor would be held until the bitter end, regardless of how grim. How did that go? She lost. Badly. For someone as proud of her strength as she was, it was...hard. She felt as though her pride had been trampled on - her honor gone. She felt as though she could feel the snickers of the other pokemon when she turned her back. And this drove the pokemon mad with want to prove herself once more. And so yet again she did something rather risky that nearly cost her the life of a friend who agreed to go with her - challenging a feral steelix, the gigantic steel snake that tunneled underneath the desert grounds. Bringing back one of its steely spikes would be considered a massive honor and display that she was a warrior. It went horribly, and the two barely escaped. She was met not with anger, but with disappointment. Her selfishness, her want to be seen as 'great' and powerful', her fear of being seen as weak - it nearly cost her the life of not just her own, but another. It was agreed upon by the elders that she was not fit to become a leader of any sort - and the role of training was given to her brother. It was...a bittersweet win-win situation. But it didn't change the fact that she had lost something - her pride. Perhaps a bit rushed on her part, she decided that she would put her want to be in combat and eagerness to fight somewhere else - the military. She had heard of it when her tribe very briefly housed a wounded pokemon who had been trapped in the desert who had been from the country of Invictus. Leaving her home was...tough. It was seen as traitorous and dishonorable in the eyes of many. In fact, only her mother knew, and supported, the decision, as she simply packed up her things in the middle of the night and...left, heading to this 'country of new beginnings' in hopes of putting her talents to good use.
